How to use snow foam car shampoo

If you want to make your vehicle such as car, van, truck, SUV to look great, a regular car wash is the best way for this. Many people take their cars to the professionals for this purpose but most of the people cannot afford it on a regular basis. They prefer to wash their car on their own and it is not a difficult task at all. You just need to grab a wash bucket, wash mitt, ice snow foam and wax and dry spray wax to make it look shinier.

What is snow foam?

Snow foam is a product that is used to wash your car. It is just like a car shampoo that looks like a layer of fresh snow on the surface of your car. It cleans your car in a perfect way and removes all the dirt, dust or debris from your car. It is basically a pre-wash that improves the process of car wash and keeps its finish for a very long time. You won’t need any wash mitt if you are using snow foam because it lifts the dirt without rubbing it on the surface. Moreover, it does not affect your car’s paint or wax and does not damage plastic or rubber parts. The best way to apply it on your vehicle’s surface is to spray it onto the entire vehicle with the help of a snow foam cannon or foam gun that is connected to a pressure washer. It will prevent any scratch and swirl as it does not come in direct contact with your vehicle.

Step by step guide

Step 1: Parking of your vehicle

Park your car under any shade of a tree or in your garage or at any place away from direct sunlight and let its surface cool before starting the actual process.

Step 2: Apply snow foam on the vehicle

Connect the foam gun to the pressure washer and cover the entire vehicle in snow foam. Make sure to keep the tip of your foam cannon almost three feet away from your car. Start from the roof then come downward and cover the windows to the hood, cover the doors, body panels.

  • Tip: Those areas that are dirtier, apply a second layer of foam on them such as bumpers and wheels.

Step 3: Apply some more foam if necessary

Do not allow your snow foam to dry onto the surface of your vehicle and if necessary, apply some more foam on the dry spots.

Step 4: Rinse the vehicle

Leave the foam for five to ten minutes and then rinse your vehicle with plenty of plain water. Start from the top and come downwards.

Step 5: Apply snow wax, if necessary

If your car looks clean and shiny then you do not need to move onto the next steps but if your car still looks dirty and it does not gain any shine, you need to apply ice wash and wax on it in order to get best results. For this purpose, take a gallon of water in a wash bucket and mix it with 1-3 oz wax ice snow foam.

Fill the other bucket with clean water.

Step 6: Clean the vehicle

With the help of a microfiber car wash mitt, clean the entire vehicle by starting from the roof to the downwards. Make sure to rinse in the rinse bucket before getting more car shampoo from the wash bucket.

Step 7: Rinse with plain water

Once you have washed your entire vehicle, rinse it with plain water in a downward direction.

Step 8: Spray ice wax snow

Now spray ice wax snow onto the surface but deal with one section at a time.

Step 9: Clean the vehicle

Once you are done with all the sections, clean the entire vehicle with microfiber towel or cotton in order to get more shine

Tips:

  • Always pay attention to the consistency of the foam. You might need to adjust the water supply or foam gun in order to make its concentration right. Foam should be thick enough so that it could stick to the surface but it should not be too thick to run off.

  • If you are using a foam gun for the very first time, make a mixture of 1:16, 1 part concentrated 16 parts of water. If your vehicle is dirtier, you might need a 2:16 or 3:16 ratio. Try different settings on the foam gun to get a right consistency.

  • Always clean your foam gun with clean water in order to prevent the solution from clogging the tubes.

  • The pressure washer should be rated 1,800 psi to 3,200 psi and at least 1.75 gpm flows for optimal foam production and application. Poor water supply will lead to poor foam production.
